Job Summary:
This role is responsible for overseeing the testing and commissioning of electrical equipment on-site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in verifying the proper installation and functionality of electrical systems, collaborating with clients and contractors to achieve successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise and coordinate on-site testing and commissioning activities for electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Review, prepare, and submit comprehensive site acceptance test reports, documenting test procedures, results, and any identified discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of all testing and commissioning activities.
- Thoroughly review single-line diagrams, electrical schematic drawings, and other technical documentation to ensure proper system understanding and identify potential issues.
- Conduct and/or assist in electrical equipment installation inspections to verify compliance with design Actively participate in site activities and meetings involving clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, providing technical expertise and ensuring effective communication.
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical system issues during testing and commissioning, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Enforce strict adherence to all safety protocols and procedures during testing and commissioning activities to ensure a safe working environment.
- Undertake tasks and assignments as directed by the Commissioning Lead, prioritizing effectively and meeting deadlines.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of local working experience in electrical testing and commissioning within a relevant industry (e.g., construction, infrastructure, power generation).
- Solid understanding of electrical principles, codes, and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, BS).
Proficiency in interpreting single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and other technical drawings.
Practical experience in testing and commissioning MV/LV electrical equipment (e.g., switchgear, transformers, protection relays, cables).
