Responbilities
- Oversee Shipping Operations: Manage daily activities in the shipping department by setting priorities and scheduling workloads to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders and internal requirements. Enforce company policies and maintain a safe working environment for equipment and personnel.
- Ensure Compliance and Improvement: Establish and continuously improve systems, procedures, documentation, and performance metrics related to shipping functions. Maintain accurate records, including daily and monthly reports.
- Monitor Adherence to Procedures: Ensure all activities comply with documented processes, promptly addressing and resolving any discrepancies.
- Foster Effective Communication: Maintain professional communication with internal teams, plant customers, and freight forwarders. Ensure the department meets expectations for customer service, response times, follow-ups, reliability, and availability.
- Support Staff Development: Train and develop team members, evaluate their performance, and implement improvement plans. Set goals and objectives aligned with corporate priorities to enhance teamwork and professional growth.
- Provide Leadership and Supervision: Offer ongoing coaching, guidance, and supervision to all shipping department staff, promoting a productive and supportive work environment.
- Ensure Timely and Quality Shipments: Coordinate the delivery of finished products on schedule and maintain high-quality standards.
- On-Call Availability: Be available to support operations outside working hours and accommodate varied schedules as needed.
- Collaborate on Delivery Planning: Work closely with sales personnel to schedule delivery methods and minimize customer impact effectively
Requirements
- Diploma in Logistics
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent Supervision, leadership and communication skills
- Ability to create and maintain systems and documentation
- Ability to comprehend and operate electronic and physical material tracking systems and equipment
- Knowledge of SAP system
- Experience in lead (direct report)
