RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is for Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE).
  • Corporate Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, and Reporting
    • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies, including crisis communication plans, to effectively support organizational goals.
    • Oversee the creation of high-quality communication materials, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and branding across all platforms.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for key stakeholders, managing responses and fostering strong relationships with internal divisions and external entities, including government agencies.
    • Collaborate with the Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing (OCCM) on public relations and branding initiatives to amplify organizational visibility.
    • Contribute to corporate reporting, ensuring timely and accurate communication of key updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Media Engagement and Management
    • Craft compelling press releases, media kits, and other essential materials to effectively engage the media.
    • Identify and pitch newsworthy stories, securing prominent media coverage in relevant publications.
    • Manage media inquiries promptly, coordinate interviews, and maintain an up-to-date media relations database.
    • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with media outlets and journalists to enhance organizational outreach.
    • Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing insights and recommendations for improved engagement.
    • Evaluate and manage PR services and oversee strategic media content placements.
    • Develop and execute foreign media hosting and engagement plans to build international visibility.
  • Marketing Team Coordination
    • Coordinate with the marketing team to align communication and marketing initiatives with organizational goals.
    • Facilitate collaboration across the team to ensure seamless execution of marketing campaigns and projects.
    • Act as the primary point of contact between the marketing team and other departments, ensuring alignment and efficient communication.
    • Monitor the progress of marketing initiatives, providing support and guidance to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
    • Promote synergy between marketing efforts and corporate communications strategies for a cohesive external presence.
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation
    • Collaborate with leadership to co-create and execute strategic communications and marketing plans that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
    • Identify and recommend optimal media and marketing platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
    • Plan and manage publicity and marketing timelines and budgets, ensuring effective delivery of campaigns within resource constraints.
  • Budget and Resource Management
    • Oversee communication and marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial objectives.
    • Optimize resource utilization to enhance the impact and efficiency of communication and marketing initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related fields.
  • 5 to 8 years' experience in media relations, brand management and strategic communications planning.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrable experience with building effective media campaigns.
  • Proficient in digital communication tools and social media platforms.
  • Effective communication, writing, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and team-oriented with a strong desire to be successful.
  • Able to think creatively and problem-solve in high pressure situations.
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
  • Strong work ethic as well as a dedicated and positive attitude.
  • A keen sense of ownership and accountability and act with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines
  • Think beyond own area of responsibility examining linkages and interactions between different parts of a system.
  • Humble, authentic, value hard work, has high standards and outcome driven.
  • Strong knowledge of budget, grant administration and financial management principles.
  • Up to date with industry trends in the innovation and entrepreneurship eco-system.
  • Prior experience working in a PR agency, startup, or knowledge in innovation and entrepreneurship will be viewed favorably.
