The Role: To provide cancer counselling and education, conduct and facilitate support group programmes to cancer patients under Parkway Oncology Clinical Programme.
Key accountabilities:
- To provide counselling service to cancer patients, their caregivers and/ or significant others in coping with the disease.
- To support, educate and raise awareness of cancer for staff, patients and public through training, support programmes or outreach engagement activities.
- To review existing and develop new resources for patients and caregivers to enhance their understanding of cancer in relation to psychological health.
- To participate in any project undertaken by the Allied Health Department
- To guide peer counsellors in ensuring clinical standards and continuing education are in place (for Senior Counsellor)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master in Counselling recognized by Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC) for Counsellor.
- At least 3 years clinical experience in direct counselling work. (5 years for Senior Counsellor)
- Prior experiences in medical/ hospital setting preferred.
- Relevant experiences in working with grief and bereavement would be an advantage.
- Preferably registered with SAC.
- Bilingual; fluent in spoken and written English and another language.
