Job Description:
- Training and Education
- Conduct training needs analysis to determine skills / knowledge gap.
- Plan, develop, co-ordinate / conduct orientation and in-house training and education program.
- Support the Nurse Manager in investigating ward incidents pertaining to nursing trainees.
- Support the Nurse Manager to maintain consistent compliance in standards of patient care by:
- Providing supervision to all grades of nurses, including nursing trainees.
- Serve as a role model in clinical practices and standards.
- Work with Nurse Clinician to develop audit tools to monitor nursing care practices.
- Strengthen the link between clinical nursing and research.
Clinical Practices and Standards
- Serve as a role model in clinical practices and standards.
- Uphold nursing standards and care practices through monitoring practices.
- Work with Nurse Clinician to develop audit tools to monitor nursing care practices.
- Assist in emergency situations involving patient care. Nursing Research
- Strengthen the link between clinical nursing and research.
- Critically review research articles, communicate and apply significant findings to their areas of practice.
- Encourage nurses to identify research questions, participate in research and apply findings to practice.
Accreditation
- Assist reporting officer in preparing, submitting and obtaining the accreditation for the following:
Work with reporting officer to strategize and plan for the development of the department based on organizational needs.
Job Requirements: Min Degree in Nursing or similar w min 6 yrs of relevant nurse educator experience, in geriatric or palliative settings
