· Assist the HOD and manager in achieving service goals, targets, and department KPIs.
· Play a vital role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical equipment by developing and implementing programs that minimize disruptions to operations and guarantee equipment functionality.
· Manage maintenance agreements with vendors for the servicing and preventive maintenance of medical equipment.
· Prepare medical equipment specifications for tender, evaluate tender submissions, and provide recommendations based on technical compliance.
· Act as a trusted technical consultant to hospital staff, guiding them in defining and evaluating their medical equipment needs.
· Educate and train hospital personnel on the proper handling of medical equipment, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills for optimal use.
· Provide leadership and coordination for the medical equipment management team, overseeing tasks such as commissioning, preventive maintenance, inventory control, and decommissioning.
· Assist in the preparation of monthly reports, annual capital, and operating budgets for the department.
· Ensure BME work activities conform to standards and work practices that the hospital subscribes to - ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, JCI, etc.
Job Requirements
· Minimally Diploma/Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic or Electro-mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
· Relevant industry (healthcare) experience with 3-5 years experience in a similar role
· Good communication and supervisory skills
· Customer service oriented
