My client is a globally recognized leader in fashion retail, known for its innovative designs, commitment to quality, and dynamic presence in the marketplace. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment at the intersection of law and fashion retail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support to senior management, marketing, merchandising, operations, HR, and other departments on a wide variety of legal issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, licensing agreements, and vendor agreements.
- Manage intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, patent protection, and enforcement of IP rights.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, labor laws, data protection, and consumer protection laws.
- Represent the company in disputes and negotiations, liaising with external counsel when necessary.
- Conduct legal research and provide timely advice on legal issues impacting the company’s business operations.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations impacting the retail industry and advise relevant teams on necessary adjustments.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide training and guidance on legal matters to internal stakeholders as required.
- Support and assist with corporate governance matters and internal investigations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB)
- At least 4 to 7 years of experience as an in-house counsel
- Candidates with retail/FMCG experience will be highly advantageous
