RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance.
- Content Creation & Communications
- Lead the creation and editing of high-quality undergraduate marketing materials, including web content, collaterals, social media posts and email campaigns, to position SMU as a University of Choice.
- Collaborate with the Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing (OCCM) on digital marketing campaigns to increase mindshare amongst the Pre-University target audience.
- Collaborate with marketing agencies and external vendors on key marketing projects, including managing agency briefings and pitches, as well as agency liaison.
- Local Outreach
- Manage undergraduate recruitment efforts through local outreach for parents, educators and prospective students, such as signature events, learning journeys, campus visits, and so on.
- International Outreach
- Manage undergraduate recruitment through international outreach efforts, to engage with prospective students and educators at international high schools across the region, both through in-person travel as well as virtual events.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with internal departments, external partners, and prospective students, ensuring consistent and effective communication across all channels
- Contribute to corporate reporting, ensuring timely and accurate communication of key updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Degree with at least 10 years of experience in marketing and communications.
- Proven track record in writing, content creation, and communications, particularly in a marketing or outreach context; experience in higher education marketing is a plus.
- Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
- Strong interest in social media marketing and digital marketing, with an understanding of both English-language and Chinese-language social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, XiaoHongShu, WeChat, etc).
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working collaboratively in teams and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to respond to different types of personalities.
- Knowledge of and interest in SMU will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel, and proficiency in Mandarin, will be an advantage.
