The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Project Officer. The Project Officer’s role is primarily to execute project in a multidisciplinary team, aiming to utilise nutrients derived from waste streams for microalgae cultivation and produce sustainable source of proteins.
The Project Officer will take on a significant role in:
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop microalgae strains suitable for protein production
- Improve microalgae productivity and optimize culture conditions
- Design, setup and modify lab-scale photobioreactor for microalgae cultivation
- Characterization of nutritional values microalgae biomass obtained
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Science or closely related field
- Background in microalgae/single-cell biomass culture
- Experience with characterization of microalgae growth, biochemical properties and protein profiles
- Good understanding of the scientific and engineering principles
