Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manager - Application Support responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the application support function, ensuring that all enterprise-level applications run smoothly, securely, and reliably.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related fields;
- 8+ years of relevant experience in leading and managing application and support teams;
- 5+ years of experience in Linux administration, Kubernetes, and Nutanix environments;
- Experience in Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu);
- Proficiency with Kubernetes (e.g., deployment, scaling, monitoring);
- Familiarity with Nutanix architecture and management;
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker);
- Understanding of networking, security, and storage solutions;
- Good team player with go getter attitude;
- Experience in contract and vendor management;
- Excellent leadership and people management skills;
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities;
- Analytical and strong resource management;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders effectively.
Desired Skill-set
- ITIL v4 Foundation or Practitioner certification.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the application support team to meet business objectives;
- Oversee the resolution of application-related incidents, ensuring prompt root-cause analysis and recovery;
- Direct L2 and L3 teams to enhance application stability, performance, and reliability;
- Mentor L2 and L3 teams to upskill and strengthen;
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure the team adheres to SLAs and support protocols (24 x 7);
- Ensure proper monitoring of application performance and availability to preempt issues;
- Spearhead the teams to continually improve the end user experience and customer satisfaction;
- Champion high levels of IT service and support in projects by developing a strong understanding of how projects may impact service areas, and planning measures to minimize such impact;
- Identify areas for improvement in application support processes and implement best practices;
- Lead initiatives to optimize application performance and reduce recurring issues;
- Manage vendor performance through service level management and business engagement;
- Support the assessment of the potential operational impact resulting from any regulatory changes or legislations which impacts business compliance arrangements, procedures and processes;
- Evaluate current policies and controls, and suggest improvements to enhance internal frameworks and processes;
- Offer full support on internal/external audit and compliance related activities.
