Assistant Vice President, AML Advisory – Governance & Risk Control

- As part of MUFG FCOA AML advisory (Governance & Risk Control) team, this role provides advice on AML related matters to stakeholders in APAC regions, including AML issue management, AML regulatory transaction reporting, compliance monitoring, global risk assessment (GRA), regional governance oversight and reporting, MI analysis, assist branches in regulatory and audit inspection, regulatory assessment, key regional AML/risk initiative implementation, as well as other related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support AML program including governance, advisory, oversight of key risks, exam & audit, issue management and GRA.
- Support AML Oversight for APAC and execution of regional initiatives for APAC and liaise with stakeholders to ensure sustainable execution.
- Collaborate with relevant GFCD, regional and branch stakeholders to provide required support to ensure AML risks are appropriately identified and managed through governance and oversight, monitoring for change management and sustainability of the program execution at branches.
- Support the Oversight team on risk identification based on monthly review of MI, results of FC Compliance Monitoring, issues identified and the preparation of information decks to inform the appropriate risk forums.
- Implement AML regulatory reporting framework and guidance in APAC branches.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Degree certified.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AML or risk and control experience in a regional or local position.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in interpreting financial crimes regulations.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin or Bahasa will be required for coverage in Chinese Mandarin/Bahasa-speaking APAC region branches to communicate effectively with AML Compliance stakeholders for all Product AML advisory work, Sharp radar on AML risk and control.
- Some compliance technology/IT application development experience will be added advantage
- Ability to work independently, proactively learn through various sources and be resourceful
- Possess excellent communication skills to convey advisory clearly and lead calls independently
- Able to manage competing priorities to ensure timely completion of deliverables
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Highly resilient team players, with a can-do positive and proactive attitude and a keenness to learn
- Passionate and take pride in one’s deliverables and quality of work
- Fast learner and capable of multi-tasking and working under a time-sensitive environment
- Prior experience in stakeholders’ management
