We are looking for a Research Fellow to drive innovation in soft and stretchable electronic systems by addressing critical challenges in interconnect design, enabling their extensive deployment in advanced applications. The role will leverage expertise in dynamic surface wrinkling, functional polymer materials, and adaptive optical sensing technologies to develop intelligent, adaptive systems. This position aims to contribute to cutting-edge research that advances soft interconnects and multifunctional materials for applications in robotics, bioelectronics, and anticounterfeiting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research collaboratively with team members to ensure the timely completion of project deliverables.
- Design, develop, and fabricate soft interconnects for stretchable electronic devices, enabling their integration into functional systems such as wearable and robotic platforms.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the deployment of next-generation flexible and stretchable electronic systems.
- Assist in grant writing.
- Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.
- Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
- Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Expertise in soft robotics, dynamic surface engineering, optical sensing, and flexible electronics.
- Proficiency in advanced material synthesis and characterization techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to design and fabricate device prototypes for innovative applications.
- Strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English for research purposes
- Capable of conducting independent research while effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
