Position: Remote Bilingual Audio Interpreter (English & Mandarin)
Contract Duration: 3 months (highly renewable based on performance and business needs)
Location: Fully Work-from-Home (within Singapore region)
Working Days: 5 days per week (Monday to Sunday, on a roster)
Working Hours: 8-hour shifts between 9pm to 9am (based on roster)
What You’ll Do:
As a Bilingual Audio Interpreter, you will play a vital role in bridging communication between English and Mandarin speakers, ensuring accurate and sensitive translations in real-time.
- Provide fluent interpretation in English and Mandarin for stakeholders in the US and China.
- Maintain neutrality and professionalism during conversations, even in sensitive situations like emergency calls, medical discussions, and culturally sensitive topics.
- Exhibit excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure precise interpretations.
- Render strict and accurate interpretations without omissions or additions, adhering to established protocols.
- Use clear pronunciation and polite expressions in both languages.
- Assist in explaining cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication, as requested by the client.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
- Ability to remain calm and composed during high-pressure or sensitive calls.
- Strong note-taking and active listening skills.
- Clear communication skills with proper pronunciation and enunciation.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to provide context without personal bias.
Requirements:
- Stable home Wi-Fi connection (cable modem, DSL, or fiber optics).
- A compatible device (smartphone, iPad, or laptop).
- Available to work during rostered shifts, including nights and weekends.
