Role Overview:
The Risk Manager role focuses on Operational Risk Management (ORM). It offers broad exposure to operational risk processes, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with the Head Office in Taiwan. The role is suited for individuals with banking experience who possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Risk Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct sanity checks for the Self-Assessments performed by various departments.
- Consolidate and prepare reports for submission to the Head Office.
2. Business Impact Analysis (BIA) Coordination
- Organize the annual BIA exercise.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review and update new services, systems, and recovery time objectives (RTO) requirements.
3. Regulatory and Head Office Compliance
- Identify Singapore branch’s systems, data, and files as per Head Office requirements.
- Communicate with the Head Office risk teams to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
4. Audit and Query Support
- Address queries from regulators, consultants, internal and external auditors, and the Head Office on ORM-related issues.
5. Meeting Coordination and Documentation
- Arrange operational risk-related meetings for the Singapore branch.
- Record and prepare detailed minutes of the meetings.
6. Procedure Review and Approval
- Review operational procedures for the Singapore branch.
- Engage stakeholders for discussion and secure sign-offs locally and from the Head Office.
7. Advisory Role
- Provide guidance to Singapore branch staff on ORM-related queries and concerns.
Candidate Profile:
Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
Professional Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in the banking or financial sector is mandatory.
- Prior exposure to Internal Audit, Compliance, Regulatory Roles, or Operational Risk Management is highly advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and organizational skills, particularly in engaging with stakeholders and cross-border teams.
