Job Title: IT Application Support Specialist (Banking Applications)

Job Summary:
The IT Application Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and supporting existing IT systems and the Bank's Core Application. This individual will be part of the IT Application team, ensuring the smooth operation of applications and providing immediate attention to daily issues raised by the IT Service Desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level support for banking applications, such as the Core Banking System (Avaloq).
- Analyze and manage problems and incidents to ensure prompt resolution.
- Perform daily and monthly IT operational tasks to ensure the continuous health of applications.
- Support, administer, and monitor application servers.
- Administer user application accounts and access.
- Assist with IT application deployments.
- Maintain proper documentation of tasks and processes.
Requirements:
- A diploma or degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in an operations or support role, preferably within the banking sector.
- Strong communication skills.
- A team player, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Key Competencies:
- Proficient in SQL, especially Oracle PL/SQL.
- Experience working with Oracle Databases.
- Experience or familiarity with Avaloq is highly desirable.
- Knowledge or experience with BMC Software Control-M is an advantage.
- Familiarity with DOS/Windows Batch scripting is advantageous.
- Experience with Unix scripting is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Java programming is a plus.
