Financial Record Maintenance: Accurately maintain company financial records, including recording, categorizing, and summarizing daily transactions.
Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements with company accounts to ensure accuracy and balance.
Accounts Receivable and Payable: Handle customer invoices, manage accounts receivable, process vendor bills, and manage accounts payable to ensure timely payments and collections.
Payroll Administration: Assist in processing payroll and handling other employee compensation matters.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements for management and external auditors.
Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings to ensure compliance with local regulations, including GST/HST, corporate income tax, etc.
Audit Support: Provide necessary documents and financial data for internal or external audits.
Additional Financial Tasks: Perform other related financial duties as needed.
Job Requirements
Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience; familiarity with day-to-day accounting operations.
Software Proficiency: Familiar with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage, and proficient in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet usage.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial record-keeping.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
Integrity and Ethics: High level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations and tax requirements, especially local tax laws (e.g., GST/HST, corporate taxes).
Language Skills: Bilingual abilities are a plus; able to communicate effectively in English and the local language.
