The region and time period of specialisation are open. To complement our programme’s existing strengths, we especially seek applicants with interdisciplinary strengths in the history of technology, environmental studies, cultural history, history of knowledge, information sciences, and digital humanities. Applicants whose teaching and research have transnational and global dimensions are particularly welcome. Candidates should possess a background and a distinguished track record of publications in the History of Technology or Technology Studies.

The successful applicant is expected to engage actively in research, teaching, and service. The successful applicant at the Full Professor level must demonstrate ability to provide academic leadership in the subject area of History within the School of Humanities.

The History Programme currently offers a Major and a Minor in History, and MA and PhD programmes by research.
