Finance Department
We manage the financial needs of the GIC Group for ongoing business needs and building of new capabilities and capacity.
What impact can you make in this role?
You will be part of a team that provides financial management services across the GIC group.
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join Global Accounting and Operations with the Finance Department. As a member of the Finance team, your responsibility includes maintaining full set of accounts of the corporate legal entities to ensure compliance with in-country statutory and corporate tax regulations, perform fixed assets accounting and accounts payable functions.
What will you do as an Accounting Associate in the Finance Department?
Accounting & Reporting
- Responsible for the month-end close accounting and reporting activities that involves balance sheet review, intercompany settlement, analysis of accounting schedules, preparation of accounting transactions and reporting packages.
- Work with both internal and external stakeholders that includes auditors, tax and accounting advisors.
- Prepare statutory financial statements, trial balances and accounting schedules in accordance with relevant statutory requirements. Prepare external reporting requirements that includes in-country direct and indirect tax and statutory filings.
- Perform analysis on the financial statements and address queries from internal and external stakeholders that includes auditors and authorities.
- Lead initiatives to design, transform and innovate operational processes to meet business requirements.
Capital Asset Planning & Analysis
- Responsible for the month-end close accounting and reporting activities for fixed assets operations, including handling fixed assets additions, disposals and schedules preparation.
- Perform analysis on fixed assets and address queries from auditors and authorities.
- Assist in the review and reconciliation of accounts related to IFRS16 Lease Accounting.
Accounts Payables
- Process vendor invoices for payment.
- Perform vendor creation, maintenance and callbacks.
- Raise invoices for reimbursements of expenses.
- Support and work closely with business users, vendors and banks to resolve queries on staff claims, vendor invoices and payments.
- Support delivery of process improvements and perform user testing for new initiatives.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent professional qualification and 5 to 8 years relevant working experience in an accounting function and accounts payable function
- Experience in financial reporting for legal entities, local tax regulations and managing an external audit
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills, who is keen to learn and pick up new challenges in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Driven self-starter, with strong initiative, who is hands-on and comfortable to manage multiple tasks, resourceful and able to work collaboratively with different stakeholders, and can work independently to deliver outcomes
- Communicates in a clear, succinct, organised and convincing manner verbally and in writing
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have practical working experience with accounting software systems (SAP experience is preferred)
