Job Overview

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions within the Finance & Accounting department, ensuring good financial health, accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. It involves strategic financial planning, advising senior management on financial decisions by providing financial insights and recommendations, managing financial risk, and driving financial efficiency and profitability. Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• At least a bachelor’s degree in trading, economics, finance, accounting or relevant fields.
• At least 13 years working experience in finance and accounting related roles, of which at least 8 years have been in finance leadership positions.
• Preferably to have or have had extensive experience in Commodity and/or Energy Trading companies.

Roles & Responsibilities

Due to business needs, we are now recruiting a Accounting and Tax Manager to be part of the Accounting team for expansion.

The Duties of Head of Accounting and Tax:

· To manage a team of 5 accountants with a large client base in industries such as manufacturing, research, retail, construction, property, oil & gas, charities, investment, metals, design, consulting, and start-ups.

· To ensure that we provide accurate information to our clients and the local authorities so that all their statutory obligations are met; these includes filing tax returns with IRAS and Financial Statements with ACRA

· Bookkeeping and oversee daily accounting operations, including month-end closing procedures, audits, and annual reporting for a portfolio of blue-chip clients.

· Conduct bank reconciliations and forecast cash flow to maintain financial stability.

· Manage payroll operations and assist in budgeting and cost analysis.

· Prepare and file corporation tax, employer tax, and GST returns.

Desired Experience

• Hands-on experience with MS Excel, XERO, MYOB, SAP, Payday and any other accounting software is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines.

Desired Qualification

• Diploma/degree in accounting with minimum of 5-7 years of full spectrum accounting and tax compliance experience, preferably from related industry.
