Your key responsibilities:

• Takes responsibility for execution of day-to-day operational audit work and contribute to the delivery of front-to-back audits related to sales and trading activities within the Investment Bank – Fixed Income and Currencies sub-businesses.
• Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within those business areas.
• Plan audits e.g., documenting activity flows of the processes to be reviewed, identify risks and the key actual controls in place to mitigate the identified risks and attend meetings with internal stakeholders as and when required.
• Draft high quality audit findings for review by audit management, facilitate issue tracking, validate the closure of issues, and approve closure of Important issues.
• Review and provide opinions on action plans provided by stakeholders.
• Complete all assigned audit work in line with agreed budgets, including ad hoc projects and special investigations.
• Develops and maintains professional working relationships with business stakeholders inside and outside of the bank and represents audit functions at various fora.
• Present complex and sensitive messages (such as audit issues) comprehensively, professionally and reduce complex topics to simple statements.
• May work on multiple audits at one time.
• Participate in business monitoring and risk assessments.
• Contribute to quarterly continuous monitoring.
• May occasionally work on ad hoc projects.

Your skills and experience:

• At least 5 years of audit experience in either banking or accountancy firms or internal auditors, with a focus on Financial Services – Banking and Capital Markets.
• Basic knowledge in sales and trading activities.
• A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university (or equivalent).
• A professional/industry recognized Accounting professional qualification e.g. CPA, ACA, CIA
• Good knowledge of auditing standards and concepts.
• Good communication skills - communicating with clarity, both orally and in writing, in a logical order and structured approach.
• Good planning and presentation skills.
• Flexible, pro-active, self-sufficient with the ability and willingness to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver under tight deadlines
• The ability to multi-task assignments and prioritize workloads with minimal supervision
• Someone with an inquisitive mindset who isn’t afraid to ask questions until the process is understood.

Position Duties

• Lead and manage a portfolio of accounting and payroll clients and ability to achieve client satisfaction and retention.
• Plan the work and provide effective leadership, supervision and guidance to staff to ensure deliverables are timely according to scope of services.
• Demonstrate expertise in primary accounting frameworks and in related financial reporting matters.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagement.
• Managing client relationships and maintaining good rapport with clients.
• For assigned clients - maintaining full sets of books including preparing payments, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, raising journals and preparing financial reports in Xero Accounting System.
• Prepares Unaudited/Group Unaudited Financial Statements for clients.
• Provides consultancy advice to clients on various accounting, tax & payroll matters.
• Responsible for reviewing the work of the Accounting/tax team.
• Review income tax returns and GST quarterly filings, assisting clients in resolving tax issues with the tax authority.
• Oversee payroll support for clients and monthly CPF submissions.
• Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.

• Recognized degree in Accountancy and/or equivalent professional qualification.
• Ideally between 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably from a professional services firm in Assurance/Accounting/Outsourcing/Client Accounting environment.
• Ability to prepare Group accounts preferred.
• Computer savvy with proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills preferably can speak Japanese
• Able to meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive in problem-solving and client management.
• Meticulous and detailed.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Singapore compliance requirements on accounting, tax, payroll, Companies Act, Accounting and Payroll Software is a definite advantage.
• Experience with cloud accounting software, Xero will be preferred.
• Proficiency in XBRL is a plus.

Role Description of Accounting and Tax Manager

• Conduct comprehensive review of accounting records for the both local and overseas entities.
• Generate monthly performance reports for the Abu Dhabi and London offices.
• Collaborate with auditors to review financial statements for quarterly and year-end audits.
• Manage and submit GTP (Global Tax Planning) reports to the IE (Internal Entity).
