Research Admin Assistant ( 8 months contract, up to $2600/mth)

Location:Buona Vista

Working hours:Monday – Friday: 9am – 6pm

Job description

• Research engagements, such as workshops, webinars
• Including collation and circulation of materials, liaising with vendors and stakeholders, minute-taking.
• Desktop research, particularly for the Science of Learning programme/ funding initiative.
• Preparation of presentation materials and reports and other supporting tasks as required.
• Processing of proposals and claims

Requirement

• Background in education/ neuroscience/ cognitive sciences/ psychology and interest in research preferred
• A service-oriented individual with good communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• Meticulous, has initiative and able to work well under pressure

Job Details:

• Working Days: Mon to Thur (8.30am to 5.45pm) and Fri (8.30am to 5.15pm)
• Location: Nanyang Link
• Duration: 6 months contract renewable

Job Descriptions:

• Provides effective administration of research grant call applications and management of awarded grants
• Assumes the role as SAP Concur reviewer and first-level approver and work with the Finance department to provide the fastest and smoothest approver flow.
• Communication of Research Information
• Creates weekly research e-newsletter to communicate information on internal and external grant calls to faculty and research staff members.
• Develops content for the school’s website for research grants, projects and achievements.
• Develops Research-related publications (Research Brochures /Pamphlets)
• Assists with the organisation of the monthly Speaker Series (Research Talks).

Monitoring Research Budgets and Assets

• Monitor budgets and expenditures relating to research grants
• Monitor deadlines for the submission of expenditure reports as well as progress and final reports

Requirements:

• Proven administrative skills including the ability to handle data with accuracy.
• Excellent reporting with some finance working knowledge would be essential.
• Preferably 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience. Prior working experience in an academic institution will be an advantage.
• Sound interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, word).
• Ability to do content management and creation of information on research (Website, social media and newsletters)
• Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn new skillsets.
