Job Description: Administrative Support Staff

Position Overview:Serangoon Garden Secondary School is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Administrative Support Staff. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of the school by providing efficient and effective office assistance.

Contract Details:

• Contract Period: From April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
• Option to Extend: The contract may be extended for an additional 12 months, from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, at the discretion of the Authority.

Working Hours:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 6:45 am to 3:45 pm (inclusive of 30 mins lunch break)
• Fridays: 6:45 am to 3:15 pm (inclusive of 30 mins lunch break)
• Off Days: Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
• Total Hours: 42 hours per week

Scope of Services:The selected Personnel will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Manning the office counter and addressing enquiries.
• Calling absentees’ parents to inquire about reasons for absence.
• Performing simple clerical duties, including printing, checking, and sorting out FAS and bursary applications, and informing parents of outcomes/collection of approval letters.
• Printing and arranging timetables.
• Sorting out hardcopy mails to respective owners.
• Updating staff absence records in the General Office.
• Performing any other administrative duties as assigned by the school’s management staff.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:The ideal candidate should possess:

• Minimum O level or relevant experience in office/reception duties.
• Experience in working with schools will be advantageous.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in basic office software applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Familiarity with school administrative processes is a plus.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant qualifications.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in software delivery for sizeable transformational or digitalization projects.
• Should have 4-8 years of hands-on experience administering SharePoint farm
• In-depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013, 2016 and 2019.
• Extensive experience of SharePoint 2013/2016/2019 Installation and configuration.
• Comprehensive experience and knowledge of SharePoint 2013/2016/2019 migration.
• Hands-on experience with deployment of enterprise-level portals and collaboration solutions on SharePoint platform.
• Hands-on experience in Internet Information Server, Active Directory, ADFS, SharePoint Online, Access Service, Timer Jobs.
• Certifications for AWS Solutions Architect and DevOps Engineer will be highly considered.
• Strong understanding of what can be done using OOTB features in SharePoint.
• Strong SQL experience including SharePoint Database specific maintenance jobs.
• Hands-on Experience with PowerShell and scripted automation.
• Knowledge of architectural design, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations.
• English-speaking with good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively with customer and team members.
• Ability to work within fast-paced agile development environment.

Job Objectives

Manage Hadoop cluster in across all 4 environments (SIT, UAT, PROD and DR)

Key Responsibilities

· Manage Hadoop cluster across 4 different environments

· Ensure system is up and running 24 X 7

· Support user query or address any performance issue either with users query or system performance

Key Requirements

• Experience in managing large hadoop cluster with Cloudera CDH and CDP

• Experience in plan and execution of major and minor upgrades of Cloudera CDH and CDP

• Experience in administering various services within CDP including adding/deleting of nodes, supporting hardware replacements

• Posses good understanding of external tools integration with hadoop (qlik, PowerBI, SAS and Informatica)

• Experience in LDAP, SSHD and KRB authentications

• Experience in performing POC for open-source applications and tools

• Experience in performance tuning of various hadoop services and support end users in tuning application codes

• Backup and restore of various service components of hadoop cluster

• Certification in Cloudera CDH/CDP

• Scripting knowledge in Bash, Python and Perl, to automate and avoid repetitive tasks.

• Good technical knowledge of RHEL/Oracle Linux, and Unix hardware, operating system and system services will be an added advantage
