Position Overview
As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and testing of the electronic systems embedded in Aprisium’s IoT-enabled analyzers. You will work closely with the product development team to ensure the electronics in our analyzers meet performance, scalability, and sustainability goals. You will also play a critical role in prototyping, validation, and transitioning designs into mass production.
Key Responsibilities
Electronic Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of electronic circuits and systems for Aprisium’s IoT analyzers.
- Select appropriate electronic components for robustness, power efficiency, and long-term field use.
- Design and optimize PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) ensuring proper layout, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
- Work with mechanical engineers and industrial designers to integrate electronics into enclosures, ensuring functionality and ease of assembly.
Prototyping and Testing:
- Build and test prototypes of electronic designs, refining designs based on test results.
- Conduct simulations and validation tests to ensure functionality under varying environmental conditions.
- Develop test plans and procedures to validate electronic systems in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Manufacturing and Process Development:
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to transition electronic designs into mass production.
- Optimize manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies, working with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Provide support for troubleshooting and problem-solving during the production of electronic components and systems.
Innovation and Sustainability:
- Stay up to date on the latest technologies in electronics, IoT, and sensor systems.
- Focus on sustainability in the selection of materials and energy-efficient designs.
- Contribute to reducing production costs while ensuring high-quality electronics that meet regulatory and environmental standards.
Collaboration and Cross-functional Teams:
- Work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of electronics with other system components.
- Support field engineers in troubleshooting and improving product performance post-deployment.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electronics design and development, preferably in IoT or autonomous systems.
- Strong experience with PCB design, layout, and simulation tools (e.g. Eagle, Autocad).
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, sensor systems, and wireless communication technologies (e.g., RFID, BLE, LoRa, Wi-Fi).
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and embedded systems.
- Proven experience with designing for manufacturability, testing, and validation.
- Understanding of environmental standards and compliance for electronic products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
