Job Summary
Reporting to the SAP Basis & PLM Technical Manager (under Infrastructure, Security, and Operations), the Senior IT Analyst is responsible for the operations of the SAP Basis services to deliver SAP projects, support the existing productive SAP applications, manage interfaces and 3rd party integrations and configurations, as well as take care of the tickets and issues from users to support their queries. You will be expected to work with the team in the functional and technical areas for the integration, testing, and deployment of SAP modules. The role will also be responsible for providing support and managing PLM applications integrated with SAP.
Duties and responsibilities
- Deputy to the SAP Basis & PLM Technical manager in managing the entire SAP technical landscape of SAP systems and Satellite systems (S/4HANA & BW/4HANA, ECC, SAP PLM – ECTR, 3D VEG, Cideon, SAP content server, TREX, GTS, CRM, Fiori, Solution Manager, SAPBTP integrations, SAP Ariba, FSM/JAM, SF, Anaplan and Blackline and 3rd party integrations)
- Oversee projects such as SAP system upgrades, installations, migrations, and other projects as needed, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project
- Lead technical resource, who works closely with IT, key business users and leaders to ensure delivery of robust solution throughout the organization.
- Lead and coordinate operational tasks, escalations, and process improvements- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in SAP Basis administration tasks
- Manage periodic maintenance activities such as patching (OS, Database, Kernel, Support Packages and Frontend), Client and System refreshes
- Lead Major Incidents (P1/P2), solving complex problems till resolution
- Ensure SAP landscape systems are in compliance with security policies and guidelines
- Co-ordinate with SAP and other vendors to procure software licenses, support services and technical assistance and engage with vendor support for issue resolution
- Research and implement best practice solutions for new Basis capabilities, integration with Engineering applications, and SaaS applications
- Provide leadership for resolving Basis issues, optimizing services, ensuring the availability, performance, and application security of SAP landscape systems
- Planning of resources based on the project requirements and perform technical project planning, sizing assessments, and capacity planning with various IT teams (Infrastructure, SAP Functional, Business, Third-party vendor, and services provider) to address various system issues and achieve common goals
- This role is also responsible for:
- Architecture, design, implementation and optimization of SAP landscapes and dependent technologies
- Understanding and reviewing technical requirements and reviewing business solution documents for technical area
- Managing SAP business continuity planning, Disaster recovery
- Creating and maintaining documentation to establish best practices and standardization and support
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP Basis Support
- Solid and proven experience in
- SAP system installation, administration, upgrades, and production support
- SAP systems performance tuning, and SAP architecture of applications running on Windows/Linux OS, HANA/Oracle/Max DB/SQL/Sybase (in cloud environment and on-premises)
- OS/DB Migration, System Refresh, Client Copies,Upgrades (Kernel, Support packages and Database), SAP archiving, SAP background jobs handling, SAP Label and network printers setup & administration
- Configuring SAP NetWeaver identity management SAP Single-sign-on (SSO) for SAPGUI / SAP NWBC and Web application servers and Configure SNC, SAML, and X.509 certificates
- Cluster resource management for SAP (SuSE Cluster)
- Backup and restore management, disaster recovery, and ensuring high availability of systems, Server-side scripting (batch, PowerShell, bash)
- Setup and configuration of technical monitoring, Charm, EWA, BPCA/SEA for Solution Manager 7.2
- Evaluating and recommending hardware, software, tools, and utilities within the SAP environment. Understanding the customer’s current and future requirements and developing relevant solutions. Ensuring agreed solutions are implemented correctly and on time
- Incident management, problem management and change management
- SAP Basis Certification (System Administration, HANA, OS/DB migration) will be an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and address issues that may arise
- Experience in managing both onsite and off-site Basis & PLM Technical teams, as well as communicating and coordinating with vendors
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and stakeholders
