We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Art Instructor to lead our portfolio preparation program for students aspiring to pursue further education or careers in the arts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for portfolio preparation, tailored to the specific requirements and goals of students.
- Provide personalized guidance, mentorship, and feedback to students in building and refining their portfolios, encompassing a variety of artistic mediums and techniques.
- Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, and critiques to enhance students' technical skills, conceptual understanding, and artistic vision.
- Keep abreast of current trends, best practices, and admission requirements for art schools and universities, providing valuable insights and resources to students.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment that inspires creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression among students.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Proven experience in portfolio development and preparation, preferably in an educational setting or professional context.
- Proficiency in a diverse range of artistic mediums and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Familiarity with admission processes, portfolio requirements, and expectations of renowned art institutions such as Lasalle, NAFA, or SOTA.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated passion for the arts and a genuine desire to help students achieve their artistic aspirations.
