Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence and Patient Care
- Plan and deliver personalized care during non-invasive and invasive procedures, ensuring patient safety and competence in all actions.
- Assist in developing and implementing clinical standards and protocols.
- Stay updated on current practices and advancements through formal education and self-development.
- Exhibit proficiency in specialized cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional skills.
- Promote patient satisfaction by addressing quality and service-related concerns promptly.
- Educate patients and their families about pre-procedure preparations and post-procedure care.
- Ensure adherence to radiology safety policies to protect patients and staff.
- Prepare and manage required instruments and equipment for procedures in collaboration with doctors.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Assess and document patient responses during procedures, ensuring any concerns are escalated to the physician promptly.
- Safeguard patient safety by understanding the use of contrast media, considering contraindications and patient history.
- Handle medical equipment responsibly, ensuring safe usage and reporting any faults to senior staff.
- Act promptly and effectively in emergency situations to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain infection control standards throughout all procedures.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Collaborate with nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Document patient details and procedures accurately using systems like Meditech and angiography platforms.
- Contribute to departmental and hospital quality improvement initiatives.
Equipment and Process Management
- Oversee the handling and maintenance of medical equipment, reporting issues to senior staff for resolution.
- Participate in projects to enhance work processes and improve service quality.
Financial and Inventory Management
- Assist in inventory control, ensuring sufficient supplies and consumables are available in the department.
- Verify accurate billing for consumables used and procedures performed for patients.
Requirements
- Nursing background preferred.
- Certificate or Diploma in Medical Technology, specializing in Cardiac Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, ideally in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (Cath Lab).
- Knowledge of hospital policies, work instructions, and current cardiovascular practices.
- Certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) with or without AED is required.
- Strong theoretical knowledge and competency in diagnostic and interventional services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
