Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large.

THKMC provides assistance to the various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sick, families, persons with disabilities, and children. RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Art Therapist, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team in the rehabilitation and habilitation of residents and clients with intellectual disabilities and co-morbidities. You seek to establish a connection with residents/clients in the pursuit of therapeutic goals based on the resident/client's behavioural profile. The aim is to help residents express emotion and express thoughts using arts as a medium. You work with residents and clients either in groups or on a one-to-one basis.

• Assess the resident/client's needs and strengths
• Assessing the behaviours of the resident/client
• Plan, conduct, review and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid the planning of subsequent sessions
• Provide quality and professional art therapy services through individual and group art therapy sessions
• Set relevant and appropriate goals for clients (where applicable)
• Work independently with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Encourage residents/clients to take part in the session
• Encourage residents/clients to use a range of accessible art materials and their own creativity to express themselves
• Help residents/clients to explore the world of art through different art mediums
• Support residents/clients' creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behaviour and well-being
• Help residents/clients to develop an increased self-awareness
• Write and maintain case notes and reports
• Maintain art therapy space and materials

• Bachelor/Master of Arts from an accredited institution

• Registration with relevant professional body or the Art Therapy Association
• Able to work well with other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Teamwork and passion to serve the intellectual disabilities

I am looking for a candidate who has passion in arts teaching to 3-16 years old students, committed, cheerful, outspoken and love to interact with children. Able to manage the centre and work independently, confident in handling enquiries, promoting, recommending suitable art programmes to parents and able to converse well to parents on students’ progress.

Handle administrative duties such as keeping track of students’ attendance, schedule lessons. Ensure centre cleanliness on a regular basis.

Salary range indicated is based on 2 days per week.

• Graduated or fresh graduate from any Art Institutions/Diploma holder. Homemakers who wish to return to work force and with relevant qualifications are welcome to apply.
• Trainings will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills to teach art lessons.
• Strong interest in drawing, painting, handicrafts.
• You will be assisting the senior teachers to teach on Fridays and Saturdays for a start. Subsequently more working days will be arranged.
• Computer literacy, some knowledge in social media platforms.
• Good teamwork spirit and responsible, support and respect other team members.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills required.

Job description:

- Plan, supervise and deliver the programme in accordance with the policies, guidelines, frameworks and philosophy of School

- Prepare and implement programmes and age-appropriate teaching aids

- Keep accurate records of the children’s progress and address the children’s educational and developmental needs individually

- Complete the progress reports of the children for each semester and prepare developmental portfolio for every child

- Communicate with parents via the Communication Book at least once a week, weekly team newsletters and conferences

- Meet the parents to address any concerns

- Use positive discipline techniques at all times

- Guide and supervise the Assistant Teacher (if any) in the classroom

- Render basic first aid as and when necessary

- Responsible for the upkeep of teaching resources, arrangement, appearance, decorations and learning environment of the classroom

- Be familiarized with all working curriculum documents, handbooks and policy manuals
