REPORTS TO Senior Principals, Asia

PURPOSE

Lead, direct and work on a range of projects across Asia with a focus on enhancing design and delivery outcomes and processes, while strengthening the regions project management, resourcing and coordination efforts, working with the Asia team, and also the wider Interiors team in Asia-Pacific.

Key Responsibilities

1. Take on a lead project management role for all interior design projects across Asia, working closely with all relevant internal teams.
2. Work closely with our project design teams to provide key design aspects and direction, including in the delivery phase.
3. Provide direct advice, input and guidance to project teams across a range of projects.
4. Where required, assist in key client facing interactions focused around communicating/presenting interior design concepts and approaches to our clients.
5. Naturally coach, mentor and develop our next generation of interior designers.
6. Develop and prepare design presentations to clients, communities, and other stakeholders such as government representatives and public agencies.
7. Assist with team member resourcing for Asia, working closely with other senior interior design team members in the region to ensure cross pollination, utilisation and team member growth and development.
8. Support the enhancement of our design culture and encourage team members to pursue design-based solutions.
9. Play a role in connecting all interior team members together across the region including, but not limited to project placements, on-the-job coaching and mentoring, design discussions, training workshops around delivery.
10. Be solution focused in the requirements of clients, project managers, contractors and team members during the design realisation, project documentation and construction administration.
11. Inventive and creative thinking including spatial and environmental design, master planning, story creation reflecting research and location criteria.
12. Assist Project Lead in the day-to-day operations of the project and tasks delegated.
13. Time management and communication with Project Lead and team members of assigned tasks and deliverables to meet fast paced project demands.
14. Attend office meetings, team briefings and openly communicate and provide reports to Project Lead on a regular basis regarding the progress of individual projects and tasks under their responsibility.
15. Assist in the maintenance of office systems including updating of the Integrated Management System.
16. At all times ensure the safety of yourself, team members, clients and visitors at workplace/site locations.
17. Develop an awareness of and follow all current Policies and Procedures for the location, region and global practice.

Qualifications

• University Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Interior Design (or similar) from a recognised university.

Knowledge and Experience

• 15+ years in an interior design field.
• Extensive experience in the hospitality design field.
• Proven track record of highly recognised interior design outcomes and delivery.
• Deep knowledge of interior design trends including Asia Pacific Design Styles with commercial applications.

Objectives of this role

1. Work on a wide range of projects and media using various software programs to visualise and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals.

2. Work independently as well as cooperatively with the marketing team to meet deadlines. Stay within budgets and timelines base on project briefs which may include 5 or more simultaneous projects.

3. Examine existing processes, identify flaws and create solutions that improve design capabilities.

4. Update and maintain internal database for designs, photography and video.
