Key Responsibilities:

• Design Microgrid Systems: Integrate renewable energy sources, energy storage, and load management.
• Optimize Systems: Perform detailed design, develop electrical schematics, and ensure seamless converter and controller integration.
• Develop Embedded Solutions: Create logic for microgrid control, program microcontrollers, and configure control devices.

• Ensure Compliance: Adhere to standards (IEC, IEEE) and prepare regulatory documentation.
• Engage and Educate: Collaborate with customers, present proposals, and conduct training.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Proven expertise in microgrid system design and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of energy storage technologies and converter selection.
• Proficiency in design software (HOMER, PVSyst) and programming (C/C++, Python).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, successful applicant will be the subject matter expert in switching mode power supply design and solution. The incumbent will be involved in solutioning and switching mode power supply development activities such as electrical circuit design, magnetic design, prototyping, evaluation and assisting manufacturing in BETA run of the new product. 

Responsibilities

• Design new platform solution for power supply & power system products within XP standard design practice, safety guidelines and in timely manner to meet the product spec, modify existing designs, improve existing products for better performance and /or cost.
• Lead project planning to identify critical path(s) and provide direction to mitigate risk.
• To perform tests and experiments as needed to support or confirm the design with written report. For both the new product design and legacy product failure analysis
• Reviews product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company procedures, safety, and other agency requirements
• Perform product verification & validation test such as electrical performance, thermal, EMC and DVT to ensure product meet specification before delivered to internal/external customer.
• Bill of materials (BOM) creation and documentation.
• Breadboard and prototype samples making and debugging.
• Provide technical support to factory on design related issue.
• Provide coaching and guidance to engineers and technicians in evaluation and design.
• There will be some travelling required in conjunction with customer and manufacturing support as well as outside training.
• Provides technical direction to the team.

• Perform structural assessments to assess building requirements, selecting appropriate materials and systems based on load, stress, and deflection evaluations.
• Research and select construction materials considering durability, cost, sustainability, and performance, while minimizing environmental impact.
• Engage in productive collaboration with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the design and construction process, providing technical support and expertise.
• Troubleshoot design challenges, offering practical solutions to ensure smooth project execution and address conflicts between design intent and on-site realities.
• Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure construction meets design specifications and industry standards.
• Optimise design decisions for cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality or safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation of design revisions, calculations, and project correspondence for reference and compliance purposes.
• Upkeep drawing lists, and design changes.
