Job Scope:
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects.
- Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine work scope and associated costs.
Quantity Take-Offs:
- Conduct accurate quantity take-offs for materials and labour required for MEP installations.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure comprehensive quantity assessments.
Budget Management:
- Develop and oversee project budgets, maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track and report cost variations, offering recommendations for cost-saving strategies.
Tendering and Procurement:
- Support the preparation of tender documents and participate in procurement activities.
- Assess subcontractor and supplier bids for competitiveness and compliance.
Contract Administration:
- Manage contracts related to MEP works, including variations and claims.
- Ensure contractual compliance and address disputes during the project.
Value Engineering:
- Propose cost-optimization strategies without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to implement value engineering initiatives.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks related to costs and contracts.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
Cost Reporting:
- Generate regular financial reports to keep stakeholders informed of project progress.
- Analyse and provide actionable insights from cost data.
Collaboration and Compliance:
- Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and project teams to ensure project success.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices in MEP construction.
Additional Duties:
- Perform cost analysis for repair and maintenance projects.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Department
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in industrial, commercial, or data centre projects.
- Good knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and teamwork abilities.
- Capable of working independently and demonstrating initiative
