Job Description & Requirements

Minimum 20 years of engineering experience with Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by the PE Board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control as eligible for application as a Resident Engineer or Recognised Degree in the relevant field subject to the acceptance of the Engineer, and at least 10 years of experience in managing construction teams for major civil projects of similar scale and complexity as below.

1. MRT project with D-wall and Top-down underground station in Singapore or overseas

2. Experience in Singapore’s civil project with a minimum contract value of $950 million

3. Minimum 3 years continuative experience in major civil project

4. Experience in planning, managing and overseeing LTA’s civil projects

5. Experience in planning and managing massive traffic & utility diversions in urban area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Overall responsible for surveying of construction sites for all aspects of Boundary, GPS, Topographic, Control Surveying, land titles etc. for Civil/LTA and MRT projects
• Supervise the survey and coordinate with the construction and design team using approved pre-computation plans to meet clients' specifications
• Responsible for the coordination of the whole project as per site progress schedule, liaise with client/authorities on technical issues
• Ensure shop drawings are produced and approved on time with accuracy
• To plan and closely manage the surveying work schedule
• Uses trigonometry and other mathematic functions extensively
• Responsible for providing accurate survey data
• Creates proper drawings on completed survey points installed on site
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior(s).

Job Requirements:

1. Degree or Diploma in land surveying, Geology or Civil Engineering, recognised by LSB
2. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as Registered Surveyor for Civil/ LTA and MRT projects in Singapore
3. A registered Surveyor under Land Surveyors Act (issued with a certification of registration)
4. Knowledge in CADD using AutoCAD, Civil3D BIM, Revit, Microstation
5. Familiar with and able to interpret structural, architectural and M&E drawings, for coordination work
6. Geo Spatial Diploma

Roles & responsibilities

1. Review of all geotechnical design drawings to ensure comply with relevant statutory standard, regulations and codes of practices.

2. Project coordination including submission to local authorities and liaison during the construction stage.

3. Co-ordinate with authorities, client and consultants

4. Evaluate subcontractor’s risk assessment, safe work procedures and method statements

5. Plan and execute geotechnical and instrumentation installation and monitoring works

6. Prepare instrumentation reports

7. Site evaluation of soil, rock, fault distribution and geological studies on and below the site to determine their engineering properties

8. Liaise and coordinate with instrumentation contractor for installation and monitoring issues

9. Update instrumentation drawings

10. Responsible for attendance to daily site coordination meeting and provide detail coordination with subcontractors.

Requirements and relevant experience are as below;

1. Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree of Civil Engineering or close discipline;

2. Minimum 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering especially for LTA Project

3. BE well-aware of Geotechnical Design, Instrumentation & Monitoring process

4. Be well-aware of Underground Structure/Construction Sequences and related civil design works.

5. Be well-aware of Eurocode, LTA CDC, and relevant design specification/standards

* Candidates who has experience as Geotechnical engineer in D&B contractor side would be an advantage.

1. Carry out land and engineering surveys, capping beam and pile cap setting out survey, traverse main and sub control lines

2. Carry out setting out of building grid lines before and during the construction stage

3. Prepare setting out data and pre calculation as per requirement

4. Carry out routine building alignment (horizontal and vertical) survey during the course of the project, perform field surveying to obtain data for base plans

5. Make accurate Pre-measurements and survey report for engineering to design

6. Ensure all coordinates on field alignment to match up to construction drawing

7. Any discrepancy between construction drawing and site condition to address immediately to Project team and Engineering

8. Make accurate post- measurements and survey report for as-built drawing

9. preparation of data, collect and assess for design and construction works

10. Periodic check & verify Survey instruments

Requirements :

1. Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

2. Minimum 10 years of working experience in land surveying and LTA.
