Direct Search Global is working with an international third-party marine consultancy to fill a role of Marine Consultant in their regional offices in Shanghai, Japan, Australia, South Korea and so on. Are you a class surveyor who is looking to move out from a compliant and regulatory environment?
If yes, our client is opening a few vacancies in their various offices across the world. They are looking for someone who works on hull machinery survey, condition survey, collision assessment, risk management and loss prevention assessment. Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strong work relationship with P&I Clubs, H&M Surveyors, Ship Owners, Technical Managers, Charterers, Law Firms, Ports and other key stakeholders
- Carry out condition assessments of vessels, audit management offices, shipyards and ports as part of pre-risk assessment works
- Carry out casualty surveys to deter the cause, nature and extent of a collision or accident damage
- Prepare estimation cost for repairs and subsequent reports for Clients
- Prepare and submit technical reviews and marine study reports covering marine assets and cargoes
- Carry out expert witness opinion via written reports and/or physical attendance at court or arbitration
- Perform insurance casualty and loss prevention inspections.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture, or relevant field with relevant hands-on experience or at least 5 years of sea-sailing experience.
- Subject matter expert to vessel dry-docking and budgets
- Candidates with valid driving license will have added advantage
- Candidates with past experience working as a salvage master/SCR/Pilot will have added advantage
- Candidates with past experience working as a superintendent, class surveyor, or in shipyard will have added advantage.
- Must have strong written communication ability, and excellent report writing skills in English
- Physical capability to work in the demanding maritime environment
- Able to travel overseas or be stationed at other APAC offices whenever necessary.
