Key Responsibilities:
- Transactional Support:Assist in the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of contracts related to real estate transactions, including sale and purchase agreements, leases, tenancy agreements, and other property-related documentation.
Conduct due diligence, including title searches, land registry checks, and verification of ownership details.
- Advisory Work:Provide legal advice on property-related matters, including land acquisitions, property development, zoning laws, and compliance with local regulations.
Advise clients on financing arrangements, including mortgages and other security instruments.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution:Support the litigation team in property disputes, such as tenancy disputes, boundary disagreements, and breaches of contract.
Liaise with external counsel and assist in arbitration or mediation proceedings, if required.
- Client Relationship Management:Maintain and build strong relationships with clients by providing proactive and professional legal support.
Attend client meetings and site visits as necessary to address specific property-related issues.
- Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with real estate laws and regulations, including land use policies, environmental regulations, and strata management rules.
Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes impacting real estate.
- General Responsibilities:Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm for multi-disciplinary transactions.
Contribute to business development efforts by identifying potential clients and preparing proposals.
Mentor and supervise junior team members or trainees, if applicable.
Requirements:
- Education: LL.B. or equivalent legal qualification; admission to the bar in [Insert Jurisdiction].
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in real estate law, preferably with exposure to both transactional and advisory work.
- Skills:Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
