• Identify slippages or delays in constructions and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
• Identify milestones and problem areas and accordingly recommend preventive actions.
• Work with Construction Manager to develop project plan, quality assurance plan and health and safety plan.

• Have more than 10 years of site experience
• Have experience in LTA projects have an advantage

Job Description

Overall Responsibility for all construction activities with respect to performance, procedure, and making recommendations to project managers for improvements and corrective actions.

Manage Contractors with a focus on quality, compliance with engineering drawings, applicable code and standards, and construction schedule and cost.

Interface and Coordinate with Engineering supporting construction activities.

Assist in developing and implementing corporate construction policies that support project construction.

Oversee the effective management of project activities to assure timely delivery and low wastage.

Manage and lead a group of engineers.

Co-ordination with other departments on issues affecting project works.

Liaise with government/Statutory Authorities, consultants, clients, suppliers etc.

Provide Timely Project Progress reporting to management and Attending Project Execution Meetings with other managers.

Select, guide, and develop a multicultural labour force & Management team with construction responsibilities to ensure that the organization achieves it business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws.

Ensuring Quality Assurance and ISO Standards are met on all construction related activities and ensure customer quality specifications are constantly met.

Allocate Capital and Human Resources to maximize productivity.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Willing to work under the sun and overtime, weekend or holiday, shift switching and able to work under pressure and condition such as not afraid of dirty, not afraid of tired.

- Willing to work as a tiler to do the relevant tiling works at project sites.

- Able to operate construction machines, knowledge of construction safety. Experience in operating equipment like drills, tile cutter, hammer. Knowledge of mixing and pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout & etc...).

- At least 6 years of experience in the construction industry. Manage site activities, vendors, and sub-contractors, assist the Project Manager in the daily execution of work. Attend meeting, coordination, prepare works schedule & site supervision.

- Ensure installation is carried out as per construction drawings & ensure that works are executed within an acceptable standard of workmanship.

- Responsible for all aspects of site safety, proven experience as construction worker, reduce material wasting and cost saving.

- Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods, bilingual is preferred (in English & Mandarin.)

Job Responsibilities

• Collect tender documents and check for completeness.
• Study and review the tender documents, which include specifications, drawings, commercial requirements and technical requirements.
• To co-ordinate with the relevant departments on commercial items e.g. insurance cover etc.
• To co-ordinate and obtain technical information in order to do cost estimates.
• Where required, to carry out material take-off including man-hours estimates; obtaining material / equipment prices from both local and oversee vendors; obtaining quotes on services ad subcontracting works.
• To attend site visits and clarification meetings with the customer.
• Compilation of quotations, comparison of quotes, review of prices, selection of competitive prices and summarising subcontracts, materials and equipment.
• Estimation of indirect costs e.g. staffs, site establishment and other miscellaneous costs.
• To compile unit rates, construction equipment rates and other cost information required for the bid.
• To assist in preparation of tender summary for management review.
• Checking of proposal against tender requirements.
• To prepare supporting information for the management during tender negotiation stage.
• To assist in working out quantities for tender, project variations and progress claims.
• To assist the Project Managers in working out quantities for variations and progress claims.
• To prepare the post-contract transfer of documents.
• To prepare subcontract documents.
• Other duties as assigned by the Departmental Manager.

Job Requirements

• At least Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Building/Construction/Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Residential Construction industry.
