Job Description:
A Quantity Surveyor lecturer in Singapore will teach students about the role of a quantity surveyor in construction projects, including:
- Project Management: How to manage resources, budgets, and expenditures to ensure projects stay within budget
- Feasibility Studies: How to conduct feasibility studies to evaluate proposed projects
- Cost Estimation: How to calculate costs for materials, labor, and timeframes
- Contract Management: How to prepare tender packages and contracts
- Risk Management: How to manage risk, value engineering, and cost control measures
- Client Consultation: How to consult with clients to understand their requirements
- Cost Reporting: How to present detailed information on the cost of work to enable payment
The role of the lecturer entails:
- To prepare training materials to comply with the training requirement and development of the industry.
- Participating in developing, preparing, and reviewing of teaching materials, and provide tutorial and personal guidance for students.
- Provide guidance and support to students, addressing questions and clarifying doubts effectively.
- Set, mark and assess student coursework & examinations, & provide feedback to students to agreed deadlines using a variety of methods.
- Maintain constructive and collaborative working relationships with students and course for the smooth operation and continued development of the School and its activities.
Requirements:
- A recognised Polytechnic Diploma / Bachelors / Masters / PhD Candidates in Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- Working experience in Civil / Construction / Built Environment / BIM Engineering / Electrical and Mechanical Building / Quantity Surveying.
- Professional knowledge and experience in quantity surveying, construction planning and production and commercial management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current Quantity Surveying practice.
- Established research track record, or equivalent industrial experience, with appropriate outputs in a relevant discipline.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills in English.
- Any previous teaching experience will be an added advantage.

- Weekdays evening (19:00 - 22:00)
- Weekends
