Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and implementing the programmes for children in the class together with the lead teacher in accordance with the policies, guidelines, framework and philosophy of the centre
• To assist main class teacher in managing challenging children using appropriate behavioural strategies.
• To be able to assist in teaching appropriate mealtime behaviour and supervise play times.
• To assist the main class teachers in toileting needs of the children. (ie. Diaper changing,bringing the children to the to toilet)
• To assist in administrative areas such as typing out various reports (e.g. IEP, Progress Report,Educational Report) to support the main teacher.
• To be able to provide input on children’s progress during case conferences or at any other discussion points.
• Assist with planning, share ideas and exchange feedback with the entire team at least once a month.
• Prepare age and developmentally appropriate teaching aids.
• Evaluate and maintain records of children’s development.
• To render basic first aid as and when necessary.
• Responsible for the upkeep of teaching resources, prepare art and craft materials. arrangement, appearance, decorations, and learning environment of the classroom.
• Use positive discipline techniques at all times.
• Maintain and build relationships with children and parents.

Requirements:

•  Certification in Early Childhood Care & Education or Special Needs Education is an advantage
•  Passionate about working with children with special needs
•  Creative and inspiring with loving energy
•  Excellent communication and classroom management skills
•  Be familiar with all working curriculum documents, handbooks and policy manuals
•  Knowledge in educational development

We welcome applications from teachers trained in Autism to support neuro divergent students aged 12 to 16 years fo age. Rich ratios of 1 teacher to 4 and a maximum of 8 students in a class. Prior work experience in a similar role and ability to start immediately prefered. Well spoken, willingness to learn and work collaboratively required.

Position title : Student Care Teacher (Permanent Part-time)

Location: Sengkang | Hougang | Yishun

Working Days & Hours: 5 days (33 hours per week)

[Mondays to Fridays: 12.30 pm to 6.30 pm / 1.00 pm to 7.00 pm / 12.00 pm to 7.00 pm for the purpose of meeting (inclusive of 30 minutes’ lunch break) &Saturdays: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm (when required)]
Salary: $1400 - $1700

Responsibilities:

• Mentor children aged from 7 – 12 by providing quality after-school care support in a homely environment.
• Supervising and guiding the children with their homework
• Planning and delivering programmes, such as character development programmes
• Organising enrichment workshops that can help promote the overall development of the children
• Curate creative activities to develop skills and expand mindsets in the areas of innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Engage children in outdoor play that serves to build psychomotor skills

Requirements:

• At least A-level or a Diploma in relevant discipline.
• Preferably WSQ Student Care certification.
• Prior work experience with children with special needs is a plus.
• Those without qualifications but have relevant working experience will also be considered
