Purpose:

As a Data Analyst, you will collect and analyze data to identify trends and provide the team and Management with valuable information that they can use to improve operational and businesses practices and trends.

Your main duties include identifying, gathering, analyzing data and making their insights accessible to the company through easy-to-understand graphs, charts, tables and reports. From time to time, you may also be required to assist the IT Engineer in supporting end user technologies, including desktop, printers, devices and potentially network and systems of all types, providing technical support and ensuring the whole company runs smoothly.

It is expected that the candidate has a very fine eye for detail, experience as a Data Analyst, and a deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases.

A successful Data Analyst must be detail-oriented, proactive, and have a strong Emotional Quotient (EQ) to manage and resolve conflicts. To quickly establish trust and confidence in their abilities, the individual will work collaboratively, and must be able to communicate effectively with the Client, Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. team, subcontractors of all tiers, as well as the equipment vendors and their agents. 

Responsibilities Specific to the Role:

• Develops and manages data dictionaries and documentation of data reporting standards
• Build dashboards and reports to visualize and interpret business data in supporting business decision making
• Collaborate effectively on team projects and work autonomously on individual work as appropriate
• Assist IT Engineer to provide IT support by monitoring and maintaining the company computer systems, installs and configures hardware and software, and solves technical problems

What you’ll do:  

• Establish client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies  
• Attend onsite and consultants’ meetings and liaise with clients, architects and associate consultants in the administration of projects  
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to calculate project costs  
• Prepare various main building contracts, piling contracts and nominated sub-contracts for tender and contract formalization  
• Measure and take off quantities for architectural / Infrastructure and structural work elements  
• Administer pre and post contract and consultancy work  
• Assess variation orders, prepare interim valuations, cost plans and budget studies  
• Compile contract documents for execution  
• Understand and adhere to the statutory building regulations  
• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance of project work  
• Allocate work to subcontractors  
• Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports  
• Maintain awareness of different building contracts in current use  
• Valuing completed work and arrange payments  
• Provide advice on contractual claims

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for E&M specifications.
• To conduct feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
• To apply Value Management techniques at the outset of a project and where appropriate involve Turner & Townsend’s specialist Value Management team.
• To manage estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and present the final cost plan.
• To manage the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
• To manage the tender process for E&M packages including tender document, tender clarifications, interview and tender recommendation report if required.
• To ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
• To ensure that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
• To ensure the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
• Value engineering and life cycle costing.
• To ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed; validate the monthly payment claims and prepare payment recommendation for E&M related works/packages
