Research staff also have opportunities to attend regional and international conferences, workshops and symposiums, including the Rhodes Academy of Oceans Law and Policy, and are encouraged to public their research in a variety of forums. In addition to conducting research, members of the research team are expected to assist in planning and organising international and regional conferences, workshops and training courses for both academic and training capacity purposes; as well as carry out any other administrative duties necessary to further CIL’s vision and mission.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent graduate degree in international law (public international law, law of the sea or related field);
• At least 2 years of working experience;
• Demonstrable interest in oceans law and policy;
• Experience in working in a team and ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Must have working knowledge of English.
