About the Role
As a Patient Care Assistant (Daycare), you will play a vital role in supporting the daily needs of patients and ensuring their comfort and safety. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Nursing and Daycare Manager, you will assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment while delivering essential care under the supervision of Registered and Enrolled Nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient safety under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Attend to patients’ self-care needs, including personal hygiene and feeding assistance.
- Assist with patient mobility, including transfers and mobilization.
- Serve as a van escort, helping patients travel to and from the hospice.
- Measure and record patient vitals, such as weight, temperature, and blood pressure.
- Manage dietary needs, including meal orders, serving meals, and assisting with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain and organize the food pantry, ensuring food quality and stock levels.
- Uphold infection control standards through proper hygiene, waste disposal, and isolation practices.
- Provide administrative support, including data entry and document filing.
- Report patient observations and occurrences promptly to the Registered Nurse.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
- Stay updated with industry guidelines and develop relevant skills for effective care delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse, or Daycare Manager.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum of GCE N Level or Certificate in Healthcare Assistance or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Patient Care Assistant.
- Passion for serving patients with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Compassionate, considerate, and courteous towards patients.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Schedule and Details:
- Work Scheme: Monday to Friday (flexibility to work weekends or beyond official hours as required).
- Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM / 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
