The Media Operations team develops solutions for media companies by creating scaled systems to address the issues impacting their experiences with the suite of products. Our Music Partner Operations team is committed to providing support for music content partners inclusive of the specific needs of the industry.
We are seeking a Music Content Operations Research Analyst to support global operations functions for music publishers and collection societies. Candidates will be data driven and flexible to frequent changes. They are expected to think creatively about ambiguous issues and are passionate about problem-solving. They will also be able to work successfully across teams and regions.
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day ongoing operations with music publishing and label partners
- Develop workflows for monitoring publishing data, music content and provide scalable solutions for issue identification and resolution
- Build visual reports to track publisher metrics and trends
- Communication with partners with regard to onboarding specifications and data delivery, including general documentation
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams – including commercial partnerships, legal, product, and engineering - to scale operations support workflows across teams
- Develop a deep expertise in music rights management products and how they are being used across constituent groups
- Partner advocate for contractual rights-based decisions and actions
Requirements
- Music or media industry research background, preferably with record label, music publisher, complex DSP or UGC platform experience
- Manage some day to day data ownership operations with publishing and label partners
- Develop an understanding on music rights management products with an eye on operational, system and process improvement
- Understand sensitivities around IP policy, processes, and products
- Knowledge of copyright and music licensing
- Knowledge of digital rights management products, especially for music
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in music account management, product management, online operations, consulting, or data analytics
- Technical operations capacity (i.e. advanced querying, data fluency, read/write specs, troubleshoot data issues, scripting, etc., proficient in both SQL and Excel)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally, both internally and externally
- Knowledge of copyright and music licensing
- Knowledge of digital rights management products, especially for music
Day to day:
- Resolve issues via Cases tool with partners (labels and publishers, collection society) - troubleshooting on content or UGC (user-generated content)
- Troubleshooting – errors in content ingestion (capturing company data)
- Educating partners on how to deliver content
- Educating them on how music is used in our products
- Content ingestion – manipulating big data, running queries (most queries are written)
- Maintaining team wiki
- Ensuring quality of music content in platform – evaluate whether content are deemed legible according to organisation policies
- Reporting – Accuracy of publishing usage reports delivered (quarterly)
