Job Summary:

The Chess Trainer will be responsible for providing engaging and effective chess instruction to students at Mind Stretcher and Mind Sparks, fostering a love for the game, and enhancing their strategic thinking skills. Additionally, the role may involve developing and implementing curriculum materials as needed to cater to different skill levels and age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Chess Instruction:

1. Deliver high-quality chess lessons to students of varying skill levels, focusing on foundational techniques, strategies, and tactics.
2. Create a dynamic and interactive learning environment that encourages active participation and enthusiasm for the game.

Curriculum Development:

1. Develop and refine curriculum materials for chess instruction, ensuring alignment with educational objectives and student needs.
2. Adapt teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Assessment and Feedback:

1. Track students’ progress and performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
2. Maintain accurate records of student achievements and participation in chess-related activities.

Engagement:

1. Foster relationships with parents, schools, and community organizations to promote chess education and participation.
2. Organize chess events, workshops, and competitions to showcase students' skills and build a sense of camaraderie within the student chess community at Mind Stretcher.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience teaching chess to learners of various ages and skill levels.
• Demonstrated proficiency in chess playing and coaching, with a track record of success in tournaments or competitions.
