UWCSEA East is looking for a Teacher of Economics and Business Management from August 2025.

The appointee will ideally be able to teach IBDP Economics, our bespoke UWC Economics course which is designed for grade 9 and 10 students, and potentially IBDP Business Management at UWCSEA East Campus. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching the IB Diploma Theory of Knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential.

Main Responsibilities

Teachers will:

Person Specifications

• A degree within the sphere of Economics/Business and a teaching qualification are prerequisites.

• Experience of teaching IBDP Business Management would be desirable.

The Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre were set up in December 2000 to offer community care options to adults with intellectual disabilities who are aged between 18 and 55.

Funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the former is a purpose-built facility designed to accommodate 103 residents, whereas the latter is supported under the MSF and Tote Board Social Service Fund to provide day care services for a capacity of 50 beneficiaries. Our programmes aim to equip all recipients with the skills and means to lead independent and fulfilling lives, so as to achieve social integration and quality of life.

Tending them with holistic care and working closely with their primary caregivers to provide well-rounded support is a multi-disciplinary team comprising a social worker, training officers, staff nurses, assistant nurses, nursing and therapy aides.

As a Training Officer, the candidate is responsible in the following areas:

1. Supporting of clients

• Cares for and ensures clients’ hygiene and cleanliness
• Support clients in the maintenance/development of daily living skills and community living skills

In addition to your teaching duties, you will carry out industry or consultancy projects to help you remain relevant in your profession and to evolving changes in industry, and maintain strong linkages with industry and schools. Your key role is to manage the department’s event agency and coordinate all event management industry projects. You will source for industry events in the private and public sectors with the aim of allowing students to conceptualise, plan and execute real life industry events/projects in the special events and MICE sectors. You will also establish constructive relationships with external stakeholders such as government agencies, event companies and other potential clients. ​

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for Executive / Senior Executive (Clinical Research Officer) who is self-motivated, proactive in problem solving and a strong team player. The candidate will be part of the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study team, a flagship Singapore population health study jointly conducted by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London. We aim to profile the health and behavior of up to 10,000 people from the general Singapore population over the next few years. We are conducting (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) biomarkers for chronic diseases.

The candidate will play a key role mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

• Take participants’ informed consent for study, verify eligibility and systematically performing drug and supplement verification.

• Assist in collection of biological samples for research.

• Assist in conducting health and lifestyle questionnaire, dietary and/or cognitive assessment.

• Perform physiological assessment according to Standard Operating Procedures and record measurements. These physiological assessments include body composition, lung, eye, skin and heart function using sophisticated medical devices (training will be provided)

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for a full-time Executive/ Senior Executive, Clinical Research Officer (Biobanking) for the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study. This study is undertaken jointly by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London (www.healthforlife.sg). The scope of the study is segmented into (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, grip strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) investigating biomarkers for chronic diseases. We have just received funding for Phase 2 of the study and are expanding our biobanking team to allow the study to reach out to more people.

The Clinical Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the study, mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

• Receive and process biological samples for banking purposes; with accuracy and in a timely manner without compromising sample quality.

• Assist in frozen sample retrieval and sorting.

• Perform nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) extraction and quantification.

• Perform daily routine measurements on analytical systems.

• Monitor quality standards by verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance, running daily quality controls and calibrations.

The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a strong candidate in the area of Thermal Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and integration of thermal management systems for eVTOL aircraft, considering the unique challenges of electric propulsion and aerodynamics.

• Develop and implement strategies for efficient heat dissipation from critical components, including electric motors, inverters, and battery systems.

• Conduct thermal analysis and simulation to model and predict heat generation and dissipation within the aircraft systems under various flight conditions.

• Manage suppliers to select appropriate materials for thermal insulation and heat shielding, considering weight, durability, and thermal conductivity.

• Implement thermal barrier solutions to protect batteries from extreme temperatures.

• Develop and conduct lab tests, ground tests and flight tests to validate thermal management system performance under different operational scenarios.

Job Requirements:
