We are seeking an individual with HSE experience for the position of Health Safety Environmental Trainer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations.  The candidate will be responsible for training workers on safety matters, enforcing safety policies, safeguarding inventory, and coordinating first aid training programs.

• Deliver training courses and assessments in accordance with the facilitator and assessment guides as assigned by the Training Lead with the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professionalism.
• Assist the Training Lead to schedule trainings and ensure delivery of training meets the construction demands.
• Prepare the necessary training materials, training rooms, equipment as required to fulfil effective delivery.
• Verify the correctness of Verification of Competency (VOC) documents and ensure necessary training requirements as defined in the Competency Matrix are completed prior to badging approval.
• Support the Training Lead in the design and development of training curriculum.
• Build capabilities to conduct insightful, engaging, impactful and informative training to all levels of the workforce including trainings/workshops for Management.

A Research Fellow position is currently available in the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS).

EOS is a University Research Institute in Nanyang Technological University Singapore that conducts fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and more sustainable societies.

EOS maintains a regional network of geophysical observation stations in collaboration with neighboring countries in Southeast Asia, that are supported by the EOS Centre for Geohazard Observations, as well as a Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS). Computational resources are available through a dedicated cluster and collaboration with the High-Performance Computing Centre of NTU. The successful candidate will under the supervision of Associate Professor Steve Yim to investigate the interactions between climate and air quality, and the resultant impacts on public health and ecosystem. The candidate will be part of the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study team, a flagship Singapore population health study jointly conducted by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London. We aim to profile the health and behavior of up to 10,000 people from the general Singapore population over the next few years. We are conducting (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) biomarkers for chronic diseases.

The candidate will play a key role mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

• Take participants’ informed consent for study, verify eligibility and systematically performing drug and supplement verification.

• Assist in collection of biological samples for research.

• Assist in conducting health and lifestyle questionnaire, dietary and/or cognitive assessment.

• Perform physiological assessment according to Standard Operating Procedures and record measurements. These physiological assessments include body composition, lung, eye, skin and heart function using sophisticated medical devices (training will be provided)

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for a full-time Executive/ Senior Executive, Clinical Research Officer (Biobanking) for the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study. This study is undertaken jointly by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London (www.healthforlife.sg). It aims to profile the health and behaviour of people from the general Singapore population. The scope of the study is segmented into (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, grip strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) investigating biomarkers for chronic diseases. We have just received funding for Phase 2 of the study and are expanding our biobanking team to allow the study to reach out to more people.

The Clinical Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the study, mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

• Receive and process biological samples for banking purposes; with accuracy and in a timely manner without compromising sample quality.

• Assist in frozen sample retrieval and sorting.

• Perform nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) extraction and quantification.

• Perform daily routine measurements on analytical systems.

• Monitor quality standards by verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance, running daily quality controls and calibrations.
