Research Assistant/Project Officer position is available immediately. The successful applicant will join an expanding team to work on projects in the field of Psychosocial support for familial caregivers. The applicant will be working in the research lab “Action Research for Community Health (ARCH)”, and the primary study involves an intervention study that develops and test the efficacy of a novel culinary programme to support familial caregivers of individuals with cancer. Research Assistant/Project Officer is expected to plan, organize and implement research projects, in collaboration with principal investigators. The specific roles include project coordination, liaison with community collaborators, literature review, supporting data collection and research implementation, data transcription and data analysis, compile findings and drafting of research reports, as well as co-author academic journal publications with project principal investigators.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordination and Implementation

• Coordinate programme logistics, including scheduling coaching sessions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, acting as key liaison with institutional and external collaborators
• Facilitate the recruitment and enrollment of eligible caregivers into the programme
• Provide ongoing support and information to program participants
• Coordinate equipment and access to facilities among researchers within the lab

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of programme activities and progress towards program goals
• Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for stakeholders and funding partners
• Ad-hoc research project administrative support

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Implement data collection to assess the impact and effectiveness of the program on participants' psychosocial well-being and overall quality of life

Job Requirements:

The Air Pollution and Health team's research of Prof. Steve Yim focuses on the interactions between climate and air quality, and the resultant impacts on public health and ecosystem. The team's ongoing research is to develop, advance and utilize the state-of-the-art multi-scale atmospheric models, along with measurement and statistical approaches, to understand the mechanisms that drive the climate-air quality interactions, and evaluate the impacts on human exposure, mosquito abundance and soil acidity.

Particular interests are in investigating air quality impacts of sectoral emissions and transboundary air pollution at multiple spatial scales, studying regional climate change due to land-use changes and global climate change, and evaluating and quantifying the effects of air pollution on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. SingHealth Experimental Medicine Centre runs several core facilities for translational research in SingHealth as well as the National Large Animal Research Facility. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will be responsible in supporting the implementation of policies and initiatives for animal husbandry and care.

You will be involved in the maintenance of animal inventory, equipment and facilities to ensure full compliance with National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR) guidelines, Animal and Veterinary Services (AVS) requirements and American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) international standards. You will be responsible for ensuring provision for veterinary husbandry and care as well as help in running the animal housing and breeding facilities.
