We are seeking a dedicated Education Specialist to provide academic support and guidance for primary and secondary school students. The ideal candidate should be passionate about education, fluent in Mandarin for effective communication with colleagues, and skilled in English or Mathematics tutoring.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct home visits 4 times a week (3 hours per session): 1 weekend session and 3 weekday sessions.
2. Tutor and supervise students’ homework to ensure understanding and completion.
3. Teach English or Mathematics at primary and secondary school levels.
4. Respond to students’ school-related emails in a timely and professional manner.
5. Assist with other school-related matters as needed.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Mandarin for communication with colleagues.
• Strong command of English or Mathematics, with relevant teaching experience preferred.
• Patient, responsible, and capable of engaging with students effectively.

Compensation:

• Hourly rate: SGD 100-130, based on experience and qualifications.

The Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research Centre’s mission is to maximise every child’s mental and emotional capital by uplifting neurodevelopmental trajectories during early sensitive periods through interdisciplinary discovery science and translational technologies.

Toward this aim, we engage in 3 major activities and thrusts:

1) Core Discovery Research, Empowering Science: Basic neuroscience research and advanced computational models to understand individual neurocognitive potential, developmental trajectories, and risk and resilience factors;

2) Translation to Clinic & Pedagogy, Empowering Practitioners: Developing precision assessment and intervention tools to optimise parent-child social and mental health within clinical, education and community settings;

We are looking for an experienced full-time IT / Data Research Engineer to support major research programmes being conducted by the EMPOWER Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct internal user requirement analysis, participate in solution design, planning and deploying of IT and data management solutions for the Centre’s research needs.
• Work closely with colleagues on procurement, preparation and publishing of tender specifications, as well as in evaluating and recommending potential solutions and/or vendors, contract management etc.
• Liaise closely with the Centre’s researchers and administrative staff to optimise the current data management system and to develop and maintain local networks.

Job Requirements:

• 2-3 years of working experiences in a fast-paced commercial / industry setting is desirable.
• S/he will also provide technical support for research dissemination activities, which may include workshops, seminars and public outreach activities.
