NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is a collaboration between Nanofilm Technologies International Limited (“Nanofilm”, “NTI”), Nanyang Technological University (“NTU”) and supported by Singapore under RIE2025. The Laboratory’s objective is to propel Innovation and Technologies commercialisation through NTU’s innovation and NTI’s deep technology. NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory aligns with Singapore’s RIE2025 handbook – which emphasises the nation’s commitment to research and innovation, aiming to drive economic growth and address national challenges.
The Nanyang Technological University NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is looking for an Research Engineer II (Research Project Management Officer) to oversee operations, manage lab equipment, and maintain a safe, efficient environment. Responsible for coordinating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading a team towards successful research and development outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate concurrent research projects together with Corp Lab director, PIs and ensuring they are completed within time and budget, and meet quality standards.
- Oversee research laboratory and facility operations, ensuring safety and efficiency of research activities in Corp Lab. Uphold all relevant health and safety regulations from university within the laboratory.
- Coordinate equipment scheduling, delivery, and maintenance together with researchers and project PIs
- Management of research activities associated with inventory, budget, and liaise with various research programs and departments.
- Lead and train laboratory research staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Stay updated on technological advancements and implement quality controls.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related field.
- Research and development knowledge in nanotechnologies and thin film technologies are highly sought.
- Proven experience as a Laboratory Manager or in a similar role, with a strong focus on laboratory and facilities management.
- In-depth understanding of research laboratory equipment, operations, and principles.
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software, laboratory information systems, and tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining robust working relationships.
- Added Advantage: Experience working in research institutes or a university environment, demonstrating familiarity with the specific operational, regulatory, and audit/compliance aspects of these settings.
