The Seed Foundation Machine Learning (ML) Systems team provides end-to-end (E2E) machine learning experience and machine learning resources for the company. The team builds heterogeneous ML training and inference systems based on GPU and AI chips and advances the state-of-the-art of ML systems technology to accelerate models such as stable diffusion and LLM.

The team is also responsible for research and development of hardware acceleration technologies for AI and cloud computing, via technologies such as distributed systems, compilers, HPC, and RDMA networking. The team is reinventing the ML infra for large scale language models. We have published papers at top tier conferences such as SIGCOMM, NSDI, EuroSys, OSDI, SOSP, MLSys, NeurIPS, etc.

Responsibilities:

- Optimizing large scale parallel training for state of the art deep learning algorithms such as large language models, multi-modality models, diffusion, reinforcement learning, etc

- Research and develop our machine learning systems, including accelerated computing architecture, management and monitoring

- Deploy the machine learning systems, distributed machine learning training and inference

- Manage cross-layer optimization of system and AI algorithms and hardware for machine learning (GPU, ASIC)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

- Bachelor or above degree in distributed, parallel computing principles and know the recent advances in computing, storage, networking, and hardware technologies;

- Familiar with machine learning algorithms, platforms and frameworks such as PyTorch and Jax.

The team is reinventing the ML infra for large scale language models. We have published papers at top tier conferences such as SIGCOMM, NSDI, EuroSys, OSDI, SOSP, MLSys, NeurIPS, etc.

Responsibilities:

- Optimizing large scale parallel training for state of the art deep learning algorithms such as large language models, multi-modality models, diffusion, reinforcement learning, etc

- Research and develop our machine learning systems, including accelerated computing architecture, management and monitoring

- Deploy the machine learning systems, distributed machine learning training and inference

- Manage cross-layer optimization of system and AI algorithms and hardware for machine learning (GPU, ASIC)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

- Bachelor or above degree in distributed, parallel computing principles and know the recent advances in computing, storage, networking, and hardware technologies;

- At least 3 years or more working experiences;

- Familiar with machine learning algorithms, platforms and frameworks such as PyTorch and Jax.

- Have basic understanding of how GPU and/or ASIC works;

- Expert in at least one or two programming languages in Linux environment: C/C++, CUDA, Python;

Preferred Qualifications:

The following experiences will be a big plus:

- GPU based high performance computing, RDMA high performance network (MPI, NCCL, ibverbs);

-Distributed training framework optimizations such as DeepSpeed, FSDP, Megatron, GSPMD - AI compiler stacks such as torch.fx, XLA and MLIR;

- Large scale data processing and parallel computing;

- Experiences in designing and operating large scale systems in cloud computing or machine learning;

- Experiences in in-depth CUDA programming and performance tuning (cutlass, triton)

Responsibilities:

· Conduct research for 5G-Advanced/6G (3GPP Release 20 and beyond) with focus on Layer 1/Layer 2 technologies, study related technical issues, and work on novel features or relevant techniques to create patents for inclusion into future 5G/6G standards.

· Be part of Panasonic delegation team to attend 3GPP standardization conferences, submit and discuss technical contributions with other meeting delegates.

· Work closely with Panasonic team in monitoring standard development progress and technology trend for exploring future research directions.

· Conduct simulations to support and/or evaluate research work, if applicable.

Requirements:

· Bachelor/Master/PhD degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related discipline, with wireless communication background.

Project Overview

The SMART Low Energy Electronic Systems IRG aims to identify new integrated circuit technologies that become the new added value for reduced energy per function, lower power consumption, and higher performance in our electronics infrastructure. These integrated circuits of the future are expected to impact applications in wireless communication, power electronics, LED lighting, printing, displays, and computing. The research is performed by teams that have expertise in materials, devices, and circuits, invoking new advances at all levels to produce electronic systems that perform new functions while decreasing system energy consumption. The initial technology goals are in the areas of Power Electronic Systems, Efficient Communications, and Multi-Functional Displays and Lighting Systems.

Responsibilities

• Semiconductor tool maintenance and stocking up of laboratory consumables
• Manage contractors/vendors and conduct risk assessment
• Regulatory licence submissions and statutory audits
• Incident report writing and follow-up with corrective actions
• Design and build engineering solutions to improve tool uptime
• Assist Programme Manager with continuous improvement projects

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma holders with > 3 years of relevant experience
• 2-3 years of experience working in a semiconductor chemical lab and cleanroom
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Troubleshooting skills (electrical & mechanical) on equipment
• Strong attention to detail with good presentation skills
• Be part of Emergency Response Team (Training will be provided)
• Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, handling of hazardous chemicals/gases/wastes
