Our Quantitative Research Interns work within our Investment Teams to help build and grow their businesses.

Job Responsibilities

• Explore and analyze a vast array of datasets, including both market data from asset trading and alternative data from other aspects of the economy using machine learning/statistical/applied math/econometric techniques
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to test investment ideas
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and software engineers to deploy these investment ideas and make an impact on the team’s PnL.
• Analyze financial data and develop predictive models to support decision making within the team
• Implement and develop machine learning algorithms to be leveraged in the investment process
• Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
• Build broad set of research tools for systematic portfolio managers ranging from data acquisition/normalization libraries to backtesters and portfolio optimizers

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above required
• Pursuing a master’s degree in a technical or quantitative discipline; such as Financial Engineering, Quantitative and Computational Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least C++ or Python
• Experience performing an in-depth research project examining real-world data

Preferred Experience

• Independent thinker who can creatively approach data analysis and communicate complex observations in a simple and intuitive manner
• A background in finance is not necessary. We can teach the financial aspects of the job if you display the necessary quantitative skills

Job Description

As an Enterprise Risk Management Learning & Growth intern, you will have the opportunity to create engaging and informative training materials, including video content and applications that enhance learning outcomes and help the company build awareness and cultivate a strong Risk Management culture.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with Enterprise Risk Management Team to identify learning needs and create tailored content.

· Develop, forge and maintain compelling and impactful learning materials.

· Assist in the development and enhancement of training material to boost learning outcomes.

· Remain abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and propose innovative solutions to enhance training delivery.

Qualifications:

• A diploma or degree in Multimedia Production, Education, Instructional Design or a related field.

• Proficient in video and audio editing software (e.g. Capcut, Audacity, etc).

• Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially PowerPoint and PowerBi.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with e-learning platforms and training applications is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The Academic Insturctor is required to teach the courses in the undergraduate programs offered by the University at Buffalo, The States University of New York, US, in partnership with Singapore Institute of Management in Singapore.

The roles would include:

• Creation of course design and materials, and implementation of syllabus to meet UB learning objectives;
• Delivery of student-centered, interactive course curriculum, including supervision of project work;
• Create, administer, and mark assessment instruments;
• Evaluate student progress and achievements;
• Hold regular consultation hours;
• Maintain and submit academic records.

Job Requirements:

• A Ph.D or Master's Degree in the exact discipline as specified by the teaching assignment from a nationally or regionally (USA) accredited university is required;
• Terminal degree is preferred;
• At least 2 years of relevant full-time teaching experience in the exact discipline as specified by the teaching assignment at the tertiary level is required;
• Ability to independently operate all class level functions of Blackboard classroom management system, including Grade Center, is required;
• Substantial evidence of an active academic research agenda and recent history of publication(s) in peer-reviewed scholarly journal(s) are strongly preferred;
• 5 years of relevant work experience will be an added advantage;
• Available to teach during day time on weekdays

• Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as Python, SQL, SAS, and C++.
• A solid grasp of equity markets and financial statements is preferred, enabling more effective analysis and strategy development.
