The ideal candidate will have expertise in CAD, additive manufacturing (AM) processes, and a strong background in mechanical design for high-tech medical devices or electronics enclosures.

• Design and develop the MRI chassis and mechanical housing for electronic components, ensuring that all designs meet specifications for strength, weight, thermal stability, and compliance. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly, using knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques.

The Design Innovation team functions to develop fundamental and ground-breaking results in design science as well as to fulfil the mission of a better world by design through a porous interface with industry, government, and social projects. This interface allows for a seamless integration of empirically grounded design methodologies that directly lead to outcomes with positive impacts at the social, media, and technological levels. The team is highly multi-disciplinary and leverages the ethos of a human-centred design approach with fundamental scientific studies in technology to create solutions to real world wicked problems, opportunities, and grand challenges.

Research Fellow positions are available in the Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) Pillar, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The candidates will conduct research in acoustic sensing and simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM).

Qualification & Experience:

Job Responsibilities

1. Multidimensional modeling of AC contact resistance for vertical and edge contact.
2. Quantum effects in Maxwell equations in nanometer scale dimensions
3. Quantum transport of 2D materials under light-matter excitation
4. DFT modeling of metal-insulator transitions at different temperatures
5. Photoemission and light-matter interaction of 2D materials

Job Requirements

Applicants for this RF position should have at least a PhD degree (within 3 years) in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Material Science. The preferences are for candidates who have significant research experience with good publication records. The technical requirements are:

• Strong skill in mathematical modelling and numerical methods
• Strong in quantum mechanics, solid-state physics, and Maxwell equations
• Experience in using simulation software.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team addressing critical issues in advancing sketch prototype concept creation using Large Multimodal Models (LMMs). This role involves contributing to a groundbreaking project aimed at developing and studying novel means of interaction with state of the art LMMs that the research team will develop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, refine, and deploy our sketching application
• Collect and analyse data from the prototype
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate LMMs into the sketching application.
• Help conduct empirical research, including designing studies, recruiting participants, and managing experimental data.

1. Research on automated vulnerability discovery (e.g., via Fuzzing) in IoT (Wireless) networked systems;
2. Research on IoT honeypot and threat intelligence.

Qualification & Experience:

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in computer networks and/or software testing and/or software security and/or applied machine learning.
• Track record of strong R&D capability, with publications at leading cybersecurity conferences and/or journals.
