SERI, the research arm of SNEC, was established in 1997 with the mission to conduct high-impact eye research that prevents blindness, low vision and major eye diseases in Singapore. Till date, SERI has conducted landmark research projects that have led to tangible outcomes, patient benefits and success stories. What you'll do:
Conduct Research and Model Development:
- Design and conduct innovative research projects in the field of ophthalmology and healthcare using large language models
- Develop and optimize large language models tailored to address clinical unmed needs
- Explore novel approaches and methodologies to enhance language model capabilities in healthcare contexts
- Communicate research findings through presentations, publications, and collaborative discussions
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in language models contribute to the state-of-the-art knowledge
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Curate and analyze large datasets to train and evaluate language models
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure data quality and relevance
Implementation:
- Implement state-of-the-art techniques to improve model performance and interpretability
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians, data scientists, and engineers, to integrate language models into practical healthcare solutions
Ethical Considerations:
- Ensure research aligns with ethical guidelines and data privacy standards
- Responsible for transparent development and deployment of language models in healthcare
What you'll need to have:
- A bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field
- Proven experience in natural language processing, deep learning, and large language models
- Background or strong interest in ophthalmology and healthcare applications
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with healthcare data, electronic health records, or medical imaging
- Strong publication record in reputable conferences or journals
- Familiarity with ethical considerations in AI research and healthcare applications
- Previous experience in interdisciplinary collaborations
